Making a Worldwide Impression

Starting Off In
NYC 1908

Carbona’s story began in 1908, when our very first cleaning fluid was sold from a horse-drawn cart in the heart of New York City. It didn’t take long for word to spread—by the end of our first year, we had made $35,000 and cleaned up more than just a few messes!

Securing An Endorsement

Carbona's Cleaning Fluid received early recognition for its safety, being endorsed by Underwriters Laboratories as non-combustible and nonflammable—a significant advancement in household cleaning safety at the time.

Putting Out the Fire.

In the early 1900s, people used gasoline to remove stains—an approach that was as common as it was dangerous. Carbona set out to change that, creating the first 100% nonflammable stain remover to make homes safer and cleaning smarter.
